Hi everyone,

We have just had half term here in the UK. I'm a teacher so had the break and got out a couple of times winging. I'm still getting to grips with it all but very recently took a gamble and bought a takoon wing based on reviews I read. It is a 7m (5m now on order). I really rate it. It is much lighter than others I have tried and the canopy is really taught so generates a good amount of power. I am no low wind expert but can pump up on the foil in 10 knots if the spot has flat water. I enjoy putting together the odd video and with the time this week I took out the cameras. Hope you like it.

i saw you're using a small boom? Is it the Armstrong mini boom?
I also ordered a 7m Takoon Wing (and a 5m and 3m so full quiver).

Do you like the small mini boom?

I wasn't aware of Takoon until I just googled them based on this - thanks for that :-) Sounds like you rate the wing highly - did you have gong wings before? Any key diffs?

Hi,

I made the mini boom. I was experimenting with it for the first time in that video. I don't think it is any better on the takoon due to it having handles all the way along. I do think it will be great on other models with gaps between front and rear handles.

I too have ordered a 5m. I am really enjoying the 7m. I think the 5m is going to be a lot of fun.

Hi,
I had a gong superpower 6m and still have a 4m pulse. I think Gong are great and rate their boards and foils. I haven't had an issues with their wings but found the windows slightly more awkward for putting away and often had to raise the wing to see my path was clear regardless. The superpower is grunty and gets going early but it is heavy in comparison to the takoon. The takoon has less reinforcement. Time will tell if that is going to be a problem. It is holding up well so far and I do fall a fair bit. It is so easy to fly for a big wing, seems very balanced and I last longer physically with the takoon. Keeping the 4m pulse. In good winds it is a lot of fun. Hope that helps.

Thanks for sharing! I am waiting for the Takoon 6m. Shipping next week (I hope). Have received the Takoon Comet already. Glad to hear this positive review. First time I heard about this brand was here on the forum!
