Has anyone had any issues with the centre bladder blowing out on the Duotone unit wings. Mine has blown out twice in the same spot, right at the small end.

How are you drying/rolling up/storing your wing?

If the bladder gets twisted/folded/tucked up inside the strut, it can blow out when inflated. Inflate it slowly and pause to check for voids/twists etc in the le and strut before going up to full pressure.

The centre strut should be far less risk and obvious if visually an issue.
If issues exist I suggest it's not designed for its known market.

Yeh friend of mine had issues with it blowing at the end or the strut. You have to make sure when inflating the strut that strut end isn't tucked up and under the strut. After he did his (and some others have had same issue) I made sure of this and never had a problem. You will find that it wants to tuck under so make sure you put some air in then shake it out a bit and make sure she's straight all down the strut.
to be honest I do this now even with any other wing. Now I've even incorporated Robbie naishs idea of pressing down where the strut meets the leading edge. We are all learning here.

My 4M blew in the same spot last week. Was at 6psi with the nose of my board resting on the leading edge on the beach. I don't hang it to dry and am pretty gentle with it.

Same here with my 5m. I repaired and folded the bladder into the end of the strut like it is on my kites and no more issues so far.
Eppo- so the bladder is just floating in the end of your strut? That does not seem right?

My 5 m and 3.3m Unit both did that in the same part of the centre strut. 3.3m Unit was on first day of using it, I came in and was resting on the beach and made the pssssssss noise, and went down.

Another friends 5m Unit did it at the same part of the bladder too

I roll my wings carefully and never hang to dry.
Really like the Unit, so hope I have it fixed now with the repair patches I've put on it.

Yep same issue about 6 mths ago with my 4M centre strut up near the leading edge. Had it pumped up for 5 minutes ready to go then, the dreaded hiss. Little pimple blister popped. Always do the half pump, shake and rub now so hopefully no more issues.

I undid the end of mine and found the very tip of the bladder was not tucked into the sleeve properly. It was touching the Velcro fastening. same on a friends one. We just tucked it in properly and made sure no contact with the Velcro part - which is really rough and I assume will rub the bladder and could cause a hole

worth checking and takes 1 min to do.

As the strut pumps up the end of the strut can be pinned to the sand and slightly tucked under. As pressure increases it can pop. So pump a bit, lift strut up and shake it loose so she's straight all the way down. Yeh it's definitely an issue to watch for on these.

interesting point above.

I will watch that from now on thanks. On another note, what wind range are people using 3.3 in? How does it handle in the top end at 30-35? Thanks

That's exactly what happened to mine. Took a couple of pops and repairs before I figured it out.

I'm being sent out 2 new bladders, under warranty. Seems there may have been a problem with the actual bladder. Great wind dings but, mine have been very nice to use.
