Looking to transition from kite foiling into wing foiling to be able to ride waves. My current kite foil set up also allows for tow foiling, but without a jetski/boat, tow foiling is a little tricky. (board is only 10 litres so cannot prone)

Curious to hear opinions on buying a wing board that is also capable of SUP foiling, or wing board capable of prone (understand this board would be more advanced). Possible start on SUP/wing then move to prone wing?

Like most, I'm trying to get bang for my buck, but also don't want to significantly lose on quality and get a board with the worst of both worlds, i.e. it does both disciplines averagely which can make progression harder etc.

Would I need to change the foil front wing when going from winging to SUP foiling, for example?

For context, I live in Cronulla and would obvs wing when windy, but would like the opportunity to paddle into waves when not windy. Male, 75kg, 5'10, competent surfer, kiter etc.

One of my most favourite wing boards is a One SUP foil board 5'10" x 27.5" 107 ltr. It's super light. Super stable. Goes fast on the surface. Good fun on the wing.

I've got back into it recently chasing lighter winds and seeing if I can match downwind boards. I sort of can using a big wing and a fast high aspect foil.

The only negative is the handle is in the deck, no handle on the bottom. I need to make two trips to get wing and board onto the beach. Once on the beach I can carry both together using various methods.

My 5' board has the bottom handle and is a bit shorter so I can easily carry it and a wing wherever. It's about the same weight as the 5'10".

You can start on SUP/wing, but the board width must be 23-24'' minimum and volume your weight + 20 L .... buy second hand, learn fast but step by step and later, once you learned to wing, buy a new one, according to your level.
