Hi,I need a new pump,my gauge has packed it in.

Has anybody had any experience with either the Ozito or Ryobi battery powered pumps from Bunnings.

"Skin only" pumps are around the same price as a duotone pump,and I have batteries from power tools

The pumps are programmable to 50 psi and the duotone hose will fit.

Im basically lazy,hate pumping

I have an AEG dual pump, it does high pressure for my cars, bikes, trailer tyres etc and has low pressure/high volume hose for filling the wings which I then finish off to correct pressure with a standard kite/wing pump

I have the small high volume Ryobi pump, it does 80% of the wing fill but I still finish off with my hand pump.

'Inflator' pumps are good to fill out the shape, but only inflate to less than 1psi, then you hand-pump about 20 times to bring up to that 7-9psi app.
(most wingers here use them; Ozito etc)
I'm a cheep-ass and use a cordless $25 airbed inflator from Kmart; ac charger or car cigarette lighter charger. Mine lives in car connected to cigarette lighter charger.

Marco, how long have you had it? Does it seem like it'll hold up for a while?

It "appears", Ride Engine is putting their name on the same pump with cosmetic differences for 35% more $. Just like semi professional espresso machines, they're all the same components internally.

The ride engine one says about 2.5 minutes for a wing in the promo video. Is that about the same speed for the airbank? Seems a fair bit slower than a good hand pump but never actually timed myself... Every second counts when i'm itching to get on the water on a good day!

How long it takes to pump 6.5 wing?

I never measured it, but it pumps up my 6m or even the 8m while I assemble the foil or put on the wetsuit, or do something else. So I guess maybe 3-4 minutes? Comparable to handpumping. In my eyes the real benefit is that you can just do something else in the time it pumps up automatically.

Dont trust your gear to auto tools.
Grow some arms.
Feel the pressure and take care. Same goes for electric screwdrivers. you cant feel what you are doing.
Use a hand key and get a feel for how much torque is really needed, less than you get with the drill! Plus you can feel when the screws are binding,need lube or are cross threaded before damage is done.

Hi I wonder If you can deflate wings with an electric pump? I imagine that you can miss to turn the pump off when deflating, which may risk to damage or suck out the bladder. Has anyone a video showing deflation with an electric pump? It will save some crawling and wrestling with the wing on the mud after the sessions.

Dick Tatta, I bought the Ozito battery pump. It's good at getting the bladder filled, but only goes to 1 psi on the high volume - low pressure setting. The high pressure - low vol setting has a bike pump/car valve adapter which you would then have to connect up somehow to fill. Not sure how long it would take. I use the high vol setting to get the wing pumped up which take a few mins. It's not much faster than doing it by hand but does free you up to set up other gear. Then finish it off with the hand pump to get it to full pressure.

Tried to use my electric pump to deflate my Duotone wing, didn't work. As soon as the main bladder looses enough air for the bladder to touch it blocke the valve and the strut remains inflated. I use a tiny pump that will put about 1/2 psi into the wing, then finish with a hand pump. Allows me to assemble the foil while the wing gets shape.

And the extra couple of minutes give you time to look at the wind readings and change your mind about the wing size.
