looking for some advice re new board. Currently riding an Armstrong 88ltr FG board - not new model but 2/3 years old. Foil setup is primarily either ma1000 or Ha780 on 935 perf mast.I'm currently considering if it might be worthwhile getting a new board with slightly lower volume and less volume in nose. The FG is lovely board but sometimes find the wide nose can be difficult to pump on to foil in light wind.

I'm 95kg intermediate rider - very comfortable on gybes and Getting most tacks. love getting into bit of swell.

Rode my bro in laws Duotone sky style 2023 with AFS silk and really liked the setup. So considering the Duotone Sky style 70ltr - any views on combining this board with Armstrong foils.

other boards I'm considering are apple slice or the KT drifter. Probably in 70-75 range.

Any thoughts on how the FG boards compare with other boards - is the shape going to make big difference?

will I see a big change with a 70 ltr v the 88ltr? Ride in ocean with decent wind so rarely have to taxi home (but it does happen from time to time).

Any other thoughts advice very welcome.

While 70l is less than 25 kilos your weight, I would absolutely go for it.
The riding experience will just be so much satisfying on a smaller board.
Just use a larger foil and wing sizes during the first days, until you get used.

If your home spot is difficult, with fast currents and shifty winds, I would go with a low volume mid-length. The mid length are easier to launch in tricky conditions.

Regarding the brands, there are experts on this forum who will provide better advice but if you are riding Armstrong foils, I'd personally stick to the same band

One of the bigger guys in our wing foiling crew tried my Armie ML75 - went and bought one the next day and gets up and foiling easily - 100kg and 5yrs experience helps, but the 20" width and 6'1 dimensions work well with the Armie foil hardware - he has even used it successfully with a parawing
