Can anybody with experience with this wing compare to other wings on the market (FOne, Mantis, Slingwing, etc...)? Flagging, wind range performance, etc.... Would also be interested in seeing some photos of the handles if available. Im definitely intrigued by the simple design and handles, but not a lot of info out there other than what BRM has posted themselves (I think all of which is related to the v1 product). Thanks in advance.

I've got the v1 range and really like them. Feel free to ask any questions. Considered upgrading to V2 but feedback was if I was happy with v1, may not be worth the expense.

previous wings were F-one swing v1 3.5 and 5.0

Does w1 have the mini boom handles? If so any chance you could send a pic? How is the wind range and flagging compared to the swing (size up or down)? Do you prefer one size over others (I find some designs work better in big or small sizes vs the inverse)? Durability? Complaints?

There are aspects of the wings that I like but difficult to get my hands on these to try so basically looking for independent reviews.

All around better than the Swings in almost all regards. My favorites are the 2 and 3m with 4 close behind. Flags out great. Rips upwind. Even pull so comfortable to ride without harness, even crossed up.

What do you weigh, what foil and what wind range do you use the 2,3,4 in? How long have you had them and any durability issues? Have you ridden the mantis and how do the handles compare? Thanks!

I have the W2 5.5m and like it great big guy wing at 225lb great low end my light wind wing at the moment,but thing is it has range too can easily ride it 25kts to.The handles are really nice must say improved over W1 which were pretty good as well,very light for a big wing flags out very nicely.I like its simplicity and can't beat the color doesn't get too hot as been down in NE Brasil for awhile with it has quite a few hours on it already it's definitely got some grunt so if your a lighter rider maybe next size down? It has a rather large LE but the wing handles very well no doubt

I owned the F-One Swing V1 and the BRM V1. I really preferred the BRM and can't say enough good things about it. MidAtlanticFoil gave me a good tip to use the Armstrong bar on it because the rear handle is pretty far back. It looks like this issue is solved with the V2 longer handles. My wife also really liked the BRM and we wanted to buy a quiver that we could share. But unfortunately it was February and estimated to be months before the V2 became available and we didn't want to buy a full quiver when the V2 would be coming out at some point. So we tried a bunch of wings and both really liked the F-One Strike. It reminded us of the BRM. So we bought a quiver of Strikes and have been super happy with them but I think the BRMs would have been great. We sold our BRM to a friend who absolutely loves it, especially compared to his V1 Slingshot.

I have the V1's and have owned Naish V1, ridden the newer naish versions, owned Duotone V1, V2 and have V3 in 7m and 5.5m and owned a gong as well.

The BRM are still the most stable rock solid wing I have ridden. Great forward pull, good lift when you are starting, super solid handles, and ridiculously light (I am pretty sure it the same material he uses in his kites).

I will ride these till I kill them and then by V2's. (They are are over a year old and I have probably clocked up 2000 km's on the 4m and 5m without any wear or tear).

You absolutely can't go wrong with these.

W1s are great wings, only complaint is a little too much trailing edge flutter when overpowered.
I also got hold of a 2.2 W2, same solid feeling, even more so, only one session, happy to say zero flutter at all.

I am kitefoiling the Clouds and for my it was a game changer. So light, simple, great power for its size and amazing drift.
Wonder if you guys have the same feeling with the Wing

Fully agree.
V1 for my short arms became an issue for my poor jibing skills so V2 may be the go for short armed guys.
Kites are incredible and I have a full quiver.

Appreciate all of the responses. Can anybody post photos of the w2 handles? Also what wind range are you getting out of these? Thanks a lot

V1 on left, V2 on right.

The handles are real nice and gotta say even for a HW rider well placed,and rear handle seems a bit longer than V1 which is nice,here's a few picts

This looks great. What kind of wind range are people getting out of the 4m and 5.5m? Really don't like big wings and trying to figure out if the 5.5 is needed or not.

I'm 225 so no doubt I need the 5.5 depends on your weight ofcourse and local conditions? The 4m is probably great wing but have not tried one

I think the BRMs have strong low end that then magically releases to create good high end. I also think they punch above their weight. I had the 3 meter and it felt more like a 3.5+

I am 240lbs and I am using the 5m BRM from 13 to 20, 4m from 16 to 25, 3m from low 20's to low 30's, 2m from 30 up.

They wings are not too wide and are quite deep, and hence, quite grunty.

Who stocks these in Australia?

They are only sold in the US direct from BRM.

BRM is a little family company who decided that the hassle of international sales was not worth it, so they stopped international shipments.

You can pick up the gear second hand or get someone you know in the US to buy it and get it shipped out.

At 65kgs, I get my 4M going in around 15mph easy. If its 12-15mph, I'll go 5M. If its 14-20, I'll go 4m. If its 18-24, I go 3M. 22+ 2.2M. (V1 wings)

I've used my 4m when others out on their 5 and 6m. I'd put on my biggest foils and SUP foil board to get going. I'd say 12-15knts is the low end with some little puffs to get going. Last week was lighter than that, and the guys on the 6m wings were having a hard time getting on foil. I went out on my 4m (the largest I have) and managed to prone paddle into a wave, get on foil, bring up the wing off the water and powered up and foiled for about 5 tacks and came down. I think I got lucky as I wasn't able to reproduce that again after many tries.
