Hi All, been winging for 3 years and prone foiling for 1 year. I have been riding the axis 910 png with the 370 rear for both prone and winging and loved it but really keen now to upgrade my prone setup because I get too much lift once the waves are 2 to 3 feet with the 910 png. What axis setup are others riding for prone foiling. I'm 78 kg and riding a 39 litre prone board. The 999 and 375 or 350 rear seems popular - is this the right move?

Yeah .. 999 / 375 or 350 a good call or you could try an HPS880 with either 375 / 350

.. if you're feeling ambitious.. 899 / 350 ...

the 999 is great, amazing pump efficiency
but doesn't turn well on my ultrashort with 375
You can improve that with the new Advanced fuselage and 325 tail.
See Axis Foil Riders FB group.

Do you know when the advanced fuselages will be available to purchase?

I had a 999 with 400 tail.....loved it for winging and proning...then I got a 1099 and an 899. I just had a couple of surfs on the 899 it is so much easier to turn and faster than the 999. If you can exit with enough speed I'm thinking it pumps more efficiently too. Im on a short fuse and preferring a 420 speed tail at the moment. Glad I swapped over. If you've been on foil for 3 years and are under 80kg go the 899 I reckon...

880 HPS , 375 P rear , ultra short std fuse . That is Axis all round best prone set up , for surf , pumping turning through broken water and ease on take off . The Art's have their moments but overall on the prone the HPS range rules. The 910 is a really slow big wing compared to the 880 .

Thanks Piros - I am leaning towards 880 and 375 rear as per your suggestion. The ARTs sound great in perfect conditions but lots of people say the880 is better when there is a little turbulence ( which is most of the time)

turbulence, what does it mean?
turbulence due to a previous wave break that left foam and lots of small turbulence? or general chop due to wine that make the water a bit turbulent comparing to no wind conditions?

Kitewingsup..in my mind turbulence is any rolling or swirling movement, some deep some shallow. Boil over rocks, the list goes on.....

anyhow, it seems that Axis have wings that work for prone foiling, but they're not really focusing on prone foiling as Uni Foil are.

Some recent social media posts suggest that Axis indeed has some "surf-specific" foils in the works which I'm sure will pump better than the PNG, turn better than the HPS, and glide better than the ART. Rumor has it that they probably won't be available until next year.

I've been eyeing the PNG910b or HPS880 for prone foil (72kg) as my goal is controlled rides and multiple connections in small waves with choppy water.

Getting tired of waiting but I'm sure the day after I place my order Axis will announce the new foils. Ha.
