Fireball 1000 first feels.
I had a couple hours winging the Fireball. I am 180lbs, winging in lake swell. I ran it with an ultrashort advance + and a skinny 40 stab. I have been primarily on Art Pro's for a year. This wing gets flying way sooner than Art pro. The take off is very suttle and smooth. My board seems to taxi extra fast with the Fireball.
The handling of this foil is very intuitive and easy. It doesn't require as much input as AP to maneuver. Jibes/tacks felt a lot smoother and predictable.
It turns slightly faster than the 1051AP. It is looser on the yah and easy to skid into and out of turns. I really enjoyed flying it slow and doing radical turns/hacks on chop. The stall speed is much lower than AP. It also goes really fast when I wanted to. Doesn't feel locked in on roll axis at speed as the AP does. I could accelerate instantly to mach speed.
I feel that the FB is an all around better version of the AP.
The only thing I couldn't dial in was the pump. I tried quick taps and big hops but never really felt like I was getting a proper pump. I have read that the pump is a bit different. If anyone has beta on that, please share. It seemed to carry/glide farther than the 1051. Once I stared pumping, I would lose the glide though. I feel like that is me just trying to dial the pump in though.
Breaching was really good, better than AP.
I am stoked to get it on some bigger swells to really take advantage of the glide and connecting bumps.
So really, no downsides comparing to the AP. Just need to figure out the pump.

Had my first decent sesh winging on my 940 fireball using my dw155ltr board with 50skinny at 1.5degrees+ with my advanced + short ended up dropping half a degree wind was maxing at 15kts with my 6.8 mode pro I'm 120kg and this foil was user friendly max speed was high 25kts needed more breeze to go faster and it rode predictably with no surprises I didn't think I was going to be able to fly it in that wind but stayed on it all sesh water was flat and predictable
the crew I sailed with were surprised I was going all the time as everyone plodded at some time including myself definitely a very surprising result.

Curious on the +1.5? I use a 45 skinny at 0, or a 300p at -1* with a fb1000. It definately has the range that Adrian bangs on about. Noticeably more pitch stable than the artpros. Tips breach very well. It's still a 1000 span tho,with evrything that brings. I'm supping, winging and downwinding it. I need thigh high bumps at 75kg to be able to get a bit of flow with not too much pumping...

I also went the ART V2, but 939. Cost was certainly a factor, but I also wanted a daily driver that I'd use in all conditions. I'm assuming that at my skill level the FB would be more challenging than the v2 in rough water.
in relation to stroppo's post above, I was out sailing with him same day. the performance of the FB940 in relatively light wind, with the big fella onboard was indeed impressive. I tried to chase him on my ART v1 999, with 6m Nova, but he steadily pulled away. Best I could manage was a bit over 21kts. Having said that, Stroppo would probably also have beaten me on his Spitty 1180, so it's as much about the rider as the foil (dammit! )

With regards to the + shimming I just like plenty of front foot pressure as I'm winging the extra drag dosn't matter with the sail power and when I'm riding waves same as the extra lift from the wave you can just put the speed on anyway also 120kg has a bearing on it if you went and lifted up two Jerry cans of water you will understand the extra loads I'm dealing with and what I'm asking out of my setup Hope this makes sense with my setup Mojoflex

I have owned or used almost every axis foil there have. I have no connection to axis and buy my gear for the full price.
I pesonally own,
art v1 1099,999,899
Art pro 1201, 1121, 1051
Fireball 1350, 1160, 1070, 1000, 880
Spitfire 1030, 960, 900
Skinny rear 55, 45, 40, 35, 30
Progressive 400 350 325

I have tested the art v2 999 with 45 skinny against the FB 1000 30 skinny. Both get up on foil with the same wind speed.
In comparison, the fb 1000 is much faster and turns way better even better than the 899. The 1051 needs a bit more wind 2kn than the fb 1000 and the 1051 has a higher stall speed and less turning. Speed 1051 is similar or a bit faster, don't really know.

Is it for you? Well I like the fire ball for my local conditions, low to ultra low wind 8 to 14kn (my location is super hot and i loose about 2 kn to most other places), with knee to waist height wind swell. I like fast, glidey foils that are ultar efficient in getting up on foil.

What I use them for,
The fb1350, 1160 are for mainly for dw with foil drive in marginal conditions. The fb 1070 both dw and wing, fb 1000, 880 mainly winging.
Occasionally we get good swell in summer, then spitfire with foil drive. I am still locking for a fast turny mid aspect foil from axis.
