These haven't been out long but noticed a lot of cheap 2nd hand ones for sale.
Is this because people are upgrading to the Art V2. Is it that much better.
I've only moved recently from the PNGs to the HPS. Would an Art pro be much better than the HPS. Should I wait another season and try to get a cheaper 2nd hand Art V2. Thanks for any input.

The original ART's are great, and very cheap secondhand. The 899 is a firm favourite for bumps, going fast and easy to use once proficient, much less drag than the HPS range. Of course the V2 has better turning but if you can pick up one of the originals for 1/3 new price, why wait.

There are a few ART pro 1051s forsale and very under rated. The 1051 was my favourite and it could almost be a one foil wing quiver for a 70 to 80kg foiler.
I got caught up in the hype and bought V2s however, I think I would still be very happy with the 1051.
At the prices the 1051s are listed at I am seriously considering keeping it.

I rode Axis up until a few months ago. My go to quiver was an ART 999 and 899 for a long time. The 899 is still a great foil for winging. I would only use the 999 for light winds. Ended up buying an ART Pro 1001 when that came out. Initially I really liked it, it had the speed of the 899 but I could get it up in lighter winds. I ended up selling my 899 and 999.

However, I never really got used to the 1001. Even after almost a year of riding it, I still struggled with a lot of things. The foil just seemed unpredictable. It really didn't like choppy or turbulent water as well. When I demoed an Armstrong HA v2 680, it felt like I progressed a year in one session. Suddenly I could heelside tack every time and even do behind the back tacks. Decided to switch to that gear right then.

I had a really hard time selling the 1001 and I feel like that made sense given the experience I had. For winging the ART Pro's are not a good match imo. The original ART's are solid and even cheaper and I'm sure the new stuff is good as well.

How would the AP 1051 compare to the HPS 1050 for ease of use getting on foil, speed manoeuvrerability stall speed etc. Both in the same wind strengths.

Interesting varying reviews. Although personally have not seen much hype on the art pros, but lots on the Art V2s.

Me 74kg plus wetsuit and on flat lake water I can foil the ART 1051 from 9 to10 kn wind on my DW board.
The difference between the HPS 1050 and the ART 1051 is that the HPS 1050 will foil at a lower board speed in the same wind strength.
So on a DW board both about the same however, on a short board the HPS 1050 will foil sooner.
Once foiling the ART 1051 is superior in every way imo.

At 80kg would you suggest going one size bigger for a go to foil, for say 12 to 15knts of wind.
