I recently had the chance to hop on a friend's HA 1125 with the 50cm fuse and was quite amazed at the difference in feel of the 1125 compared to the 60cm fuse combo. The foil completely changed character (more like the 925 which I love) and lost a lot of the reluctance to turn over quickly and respond in the way I want. Pump cadence was noticeably higher as you'd expect. For SUP foiling I must admit I have a love/hate relationship with the 1125 on the 60cm fuse as the damned thing is riding me rather than the opposite a fair bit of the time. Any riders using the 50 on the regular with the 1125 for winging and SUP/prone? Any downsides you've noticed? Anyone riding and preferring the 50cm for smaller foils too?
I really like the 50 (52cm) A+ fuse with the 1325, 1125, and 925. Ideal conditions where I grab the 50 is when there is short, tight period windswell on my local river where I want to be able to rip cut backs and shred hard 'in the pocket'. These are thigh high bumps I'm talking.
I'll grab the 60 if I have more face to work with like in the surf or larger bumps with larger fetch.
Last weekend did a river downwinger 1325/50/195 and it was great. This weekend did another downwinger, this time in the Chesapeake bay and bumps were twice the size and more unorganized. Was wishing I had either the 60 fuse or downsized to 1125. I had to be on my A game for the 20 miles.
the 50s added pitch control is crucial though, as you can slam the wing down, or up, with faster response time to save a breach, pearl, or ventilation.
