Hi All - first wingding board repair and wanted to get the advice of those who have been there before :-) I've watched tons of videos but not sure if the FG board construction requires a different approach.

Photo: Small crack(s) on the bottom of the board and there's about a 5cm circle around the cracks where i can feel about 1mm of flex in the 'shell'. The shell is also very slightly raised around the crack area compared to the other side.

I'm pretty sure it hasn't taken on any water. Should I just use some Solarex resin to seal it and keep an eye on it, or cut in deeper to investigate further? Thanks!
P.S. no known impact to the board, no jumping, almost all lake riding, although i am 95kg on a 99l board so coming off foil can be pretty rough :-). Been treating it with kid gloves, and it's at the 10-month mark so out of warranty.

Got to sand the white top coat off, might just be paint cracking. But you won't know until further investigation.

Just seal it up with super glue and see how it goes , I had similar cracks and filled them with super glue and no probs after years. Try get the thinnest glue so it will run into the cracks. Strong easy quick fix if it's nothing more

Any issues/concerns with the slight flex of the shell around the cracks? There's no moisture coming out when I've bagged the crack.

Hi kiwipover, make sure you get the epoxy solarez.
I've got a eps core surfboard than a fin cut through the wood glass skin into the core.
Initially I was a bit skeptical (having spent time building epoxy sandwich boards) and thought it would be a temporary repair but still going well years later.
With the Kiwi guessing you're in NZ like me and can buy online from NZ Sailing or Torpedo 7.

Not good advice if we don't know where it is.
Cracks in line with the tracks can be indicative of a big internal crease you can't see or need oblique lighting and a straight edge to diagnose.

Paint depth only stuff on the nose that can't let water in is so insignificant I'd not even bother.

If you dust the super glue with baking soda, it will cure instantly.

Cool. thanks for the info. I'll try the same action plan of sanding and Solarez. Do you need to paint over the Solarez, or did you leave as is?

Left it as-is.

Just add to the conversation for future repairs, the blue color paint code for the Wing Foil Sup board (V1 version) is 2945C blue.
