Hi guys,

I consider to order a custom made Appletree Slice V3. The goal is to get an board for surfing, carving waves and do some basic jumps.

The current ML boards are often quite long and pretty narrow. That's why they take off easy, but jumping for example with the Armstrong ML can be tricky... So I am looking for bit less length and more width and still floating board.

I am 85 kg, advanced rider. The board should be like

85l, 175x55 cm

Yeah I know it's pretty much like the Omen Flux, but I don't know about the offset Footstraps...

Any recommendations???

Have you tried the standard V3? It's a great all rounder. I'm 70kg and went with the 60L, early up on foil, great rebound and not to long for freestyle.

The offset strap on the Omen works very, very well. I don't own one but have ridden them a few times and really like the feel, especially on wider tailed boards. Having said that, my 62L KT Ginxu2 with a centre strap sails great, but mainly because I can get enough toe pressure on the back foot. A centered strap on a wider tailed board is annoying due to lack of leverage IMHO.

85l, 175x55 cm is very similar size to Duotone Skybrid which is 85L, 172x55.9cm.

@Windoc I get your point about leverage. How about jumping with the offset strap?

@Relapse No I haven't tried the V3 yet. Unfortunately no one is riding it here in Bavaria. No dealers too ..

We got plenty of days with wind 8 -10 knots therefore the Slice might be a bit too short.

A mate bought the 100L Skybrid for light wind and doesn't seem to have a problem jumping that. Definitely gets going easy.

Slice v3 is very efficient for its size. Im 80kg and ride a 60L under 10 knots pretty easily. Excellent all around board.
