It would be a lot of wing! I've been learning to ding the past few months and have done all that on the 980s in conditions as light as 12kn (5 or 6m wings)I switch between the 150AR and 175AR tails the latter being much slowerHaving said that I'm pretty sure James Casey released a video when the 1300 was launched where he light wind winged it?si=FehjbVXTkQ1mjNzj

Agree with dcr13 as at 100kg I use the 980s in light wind it has a lot of lift if you have good technique to get on foil. The 1300 must be a beast and would be slow compared to the 980 and 1130. Demo if possible.

R series might be better for light wind

Yeah I winged it, only in flat water. Light wind, maybe 10 knots. To me it felt a bit too stable, kind of like driving a bus, makes it very easy to do foot switches, took a bit of getting used to changing direction because the turn radius is larger than what I'm used to. It was my friends and I don't know what fuse it had but maybe short fuse and a smallish tail would help loosen things up a bit more to my preference.

Personally I would not get one but I can see why some people might like it it was pretty cruisy and smooth.

Yes I used my S1300,175 Tail,large fuse for winging in 7-10 kts 6m PPC M1 on an Armie FG DW 8'3" 135Ltr .
In a pretty flat ocean .Big arcs required for turning,straight line speed 16-18 kts.Very stable but fully enjoyable ride.As mentioned smaller fuse Or Stabiliser would loosen it up nicely.Have been loving the S1130 winging bit quicker,more turny,110kgs so larger wings are not a bother only if windy then back to S980,yet to try the S860.

I haven't tried that one but I have the Cloud IX fs1350 which has a 1070 span, so a little narrower than the Code 1300s.

I do use it for lightwind winging or for lazy sessions. If I really want to slow my turns way down this is what I ride. Think longboard SUP turns. Spans that large are just stiff in the turns. You can adapt, learn, get comfy enough to throw the tips out on turns, but don't expect it to go rail to rail like a superhero.
