Some one had the V1 at the local today and it looked and felt pretty good on dry land. How do they compare to the Wasp and Duotone? Pumpability? Stability? Powa?

Actually might have been the V2 as it looks like the V1 has that weird inflatable trailing edge

I'm trying to gear up to learn foiling w/ a limited budget. Few bullet$ in the gun- No room for error in purchase for redo's. I'm in a low wind area- probably getting a 6.0. I've had my eyes on the Slingshot V2 as well. Seems to have features I'm after and had good reviews, but I don't know anyone on one. For that reason I'm leaning toward a Wasp as it is a more known- proven wing. Apparently heaps of low wind grunt/pumpability which I assume to be critical figuring out the sport in light wind. The Switch also looks interesting- looks a good wing at a nice price-point but.... same thing- don't know anyone on one so I'm hesitant to gamble.

For some reason the v2 is taking a long time to arrive in AU and there's hardly any reviews on it so I wouldn't jump on it yet.

There's tons of other wing brands out there.

I haven't gotten on the SS V2 yet but I did get on the airush wing and compared to the wasp and naish S25, the airush is my choice. I also like the F1. Hope to get on the SS soon and the switch.

The Airush is the same as the Starboard- w/ window/Y handles? Look forward to you comparison of all of those. Or.... I just need to pull the trigger and get going.

MacKite Boarding has done some great reviews on V2 SlingWing.

I am going to get a 5.4 when available in AUS.

I have used a 5m F1 SWing and a 5m Wasp and the V2 SlingWing looks to have the best features of both.

Hopefully you get a little more low end grunt and more stability when free foiling, the 5m Wasp does swing around a bit when free foiling in over 25 knot conditions.

I ride in conditions that can vary from 15 to 20 plus knots during a session and I opt for a bigger wing to get me through the Lulls
The squared of wing tips looks like a great feature

Will update with user review when I get my hands on one ( back to back with a 5m WaspV1)

i've ridden the V2 5.4. It's nice. I rode it back to back with the Echo 4m. the wing is really stable flagged... it just parks there. power delivery seemed nice and predictable. it felt mushier than the Echo. Felt the Echo went upwind better but I'm also used to that wing. The V2 luffed much better. front hand handles (and handles overall) seem kind of far from the front handle, so it was quite an adjustment having to cross over my hands that far to get my front hand on the first inline handle (there is one cross handle and two y handles in front of it) The handles seemed a bit narrow also for my hands and wish they had some structure so they didn't round out under load as much. wingspan seemed quite long... yes it was a 5.4 so maybe bad comparison w/ my Echo 4m but I think all the V2 sizes have the same wingspan (perhaps someone can confirm or correct me on this).

tl;dr it felt very nice and was easy to power up and get going. i don't think it's the most powerful wing, but it flies nice and would be a wing I would use... I'm guessing some of the crew here would enjoy it, esp once they attach hockey sticks to the handles (as they're doing w/ the S25)

I only have about 20min on the V2.
