Looking at matching the an AXIS ART foil set (899/999/1099) with the Armstrong FG boards - the 60L & 34L.

Anyone have feedback on the usability of this setup or a similar setup using AXIS on the FG boards?

More specifically, I've heard that these foils have a fair bit of front foot pressure when riding.
I'm wondering when paired with the Armie FG board if the entire system is going to be too far forward to counter this front foot pressure.? (Ie. Not enough rearward travel in the box when mounting the mast)

Has anyone out there used this combo.?

Axis foils and Armstrong Sup/wing boards are not compatible in my view. Better with a rear track biased board like Axis, Amos, Fanatic, ONE, Kalama or Sunova. Why have such long 320mm boxes if you have the foil slammed to the back all the time. The new advanced black fuse might give you a few more cms adjustment in the Armstrong tracks.

I reckon it will work for sure. Just get the advance fuse, it needs to go 4cm further forward. Many of the abovementioned boards no longer work with this fuse. I can forget about riding my ONE sup board with it.
And with the smaller progressive rear wings, say 325 or 300, you'll feel less front foot pressure of this is a concern, or you can try negatively shimming as well. Though this has very little to do with the board you're riding, You set this first for the flight characteristics you seek, then move the mast where it needs to go.

All the new wing boards now have the tracks pushed a little further forward to help with some of the outta balance foils. The wing boards now have the tracks 5cm further forward than the older boards and then Eggs are 7cm further forward, all currently now available besides the 6'1 EGGS which are sold out. We worked pretty hard to find the sweet spot which can suit 99% of foils made. Would be much easier if the foil makers just balanced the foils as neutral foot pressure which would make setting up the boards far easier.

That's good intel on the advanced fuselage as an option.

Just tried ART999 / progressive 325 on 600mm fuse, project cedrus mast + armstrong FG 60L, at ~75kg it works nicely, had to move it back to mark 3 (normally I ride SAB W1000 on mark 8.5), I think If I put ART 1099 I'd end up on mark 1 or 0.
So in general I'd say if you're >= 75kg you should be ok, if you're lighter there might not be enough track at the back, also, one can always put a "negative 1" axis shim (to make the stab flatter in relationship to the fuse), that would resolve in moving the mast 0.5-1cm forward.

Hey Artem, How do you find the art999 compared to the w1000?

I'm afraid the art hype is real... Will make a comparison review this week probably.

Someone should just make a board with 50 cm tracks and be done with it.
