Just picked this little gem from Kmart for $20. Cordless rechargeable with 240v and 12v chargers. Pumps my Slicks to about 1psi in 15sec so only about 20 hand-pumps to full pressure. Best is using it to deflate at end of session; makes rolling up a breeze.

I tried that: it wasn't able to make even 1 psi in wing. Returned it.

I've used use one of these for the past 18 months, adjustable (accurate) pressure settings

pumped up a Duotone Echo in less than one minute:

Yeah I've been using the little Ryobi blower to get that 1st psi knocked out.
Wouldn't be without it. Takes about a minute on the 7m wing

I have a Bravo inflatable SUP pump.

Set the pressure and it pumps up while I get wetsuit on etc.

Pump up, wrong size wing no problem ??

I'm thinking about getting an inflatable board (travel). This might come in handy.

There are two separate pumps inside: on one side is hi-flow pump, on other side tire pump. They are not working together. Hi-flow pump not able to create any serious pressure. If you try to use tire pump for inflating wing it will take forever, as it has really low air output.

This has been debated ages ago on kite forums. Verdict was a waste of money especially if you have to carry your gear any distance to the beach. Downside is carrying two pumps, they are heavy, expensive relative to hand pump (especially ones that can get to 8psi on their own), they do not like sand, more likely to be stolen if left on beach as you wing, noisy so stopping the chat as you pump up and finally remove your warm up before you go out. Plus you look like a tosser

I used the ryobi one to pump up to 1psi after a session to help speed up the drying process.until it crapped out on me.now I feel like i wasted resources lol.

I would understand buying a blower to pump up a 20m inflatable kite, or a king size inflatable mattress, but a wind wing ?

Consider the pumping up, (which should only take 30 seconds at most), as part of your warm up routine. We need less, cheap plastic Chinese produced sh1t in our country.

Ok. I'm one of the lazy buggers happy to buy one of these and save a couple of minutes of manual pumping. They're now on special for $12.

I timed pumping my 6m wing and it took 80 seconds. No rushing or huffing and puffing.

I'm guessing for half the time the pressure gauge registers nothing until the bladder expands to volume, then the later pumps raise the pressure more quickly with each subsequent 1 psi taking only 1-2 pumps.

I can't see the benefit of carrying an electric pump and a manual pump and having to set up the electric pump then change pumps and finish off. Add to that having the electric pump hanging around at home recharging.

More importantly, I monitor the inflating of the wing and check for twists and anything else as I am pumping. There's no way I would plug in a pump and walk off and do other stuff.

I got the kmart pump. A lot faster rolling the wings up as the pump sucks out the air, almost too fast trying to keep up.
Maybe it's just the duotone valve but it refuses to deflate fully when left open. My kites on the other hand deflate fully.
And I'm no longer 16, couldn't give a rats ar$e what other people think of me using an electric pump.

I used to use one of these rechargeable pumps for my 315l inflatable SUP. Was very handy to inflate it to shape and finish it off with the proper high pressure hand pump to 18-19 psi. Wasn't a hassle to carry it in the SUP's bag.

I don't bother using it with the wings.

It takes less than a minute to pump 4.5 wing manually. I don't see a point carrying electric pump. For SUP board I used it to pump from 10psi to 15 while I wore wetsuit.

As I eluded to in my original post- the real benefit of this $12 item is deflating so it is super-easy to then roll and get the wing in to the bag at end of session. Works for me!

Agreed, but most people missed that bit.

Way too many people judging how others they spend a measly $12
