seems like the 40kt barrier has been reached a lot quicker than with windfoiling. Realising the benefits of foil development I guess. Does anyone know what Fw, fuse, Tw he was on?

Last season Mathis was racing (and winning) on a Levitaz R5-S, some most likely another Levitaz or prototype specifically for a top speed record.
