Anyone running the new slicks with the mod3 fabric have any technique tips to keep the tail flying during gybes and flagged swell riding in lighter winds. My old slick never did this but the new one that is noticeably heavier with the new fabric falls out of the sky all the time, bloody frustrating having to try punch it back up with the free hand !

Thanks, yes do those but not always conversant to conditions and doesn't help flagging rides.

What size you having trouble with and which boom. I found the mod3 slick to be way better flagged out than previous versions of especially with the sls boom. the 5.5 is amazing for a big wing and the 4.5 & 3.5 also super good

Light winds with big wing you need to duck gybe and on wave keep going fast with wing behind you, if the wing is infront of you and you ride towards it it's bound to drop

Hi Mr Fisch. I dort think ist the weight. The 2023 slick has a bit more power compared to the 2022 sls, you might be riding the same size in lower winds. In lower winds jibing flagging becomes more difficult. Try to flag the wing more above your head or behind you. When jibing have rotate the wing more horizontal above your head or hiniken jibe style. Hope that helps

Hi guys!
Mr. Foilfox.... If u say u might be riding same size in lower winds... I heard that before and started to replace sls. Now bought 6 wich is my central wing here. Before owned 7 and 6 sls. U think I can go for a 4.5 instead of 5 and 4 sls? Normally I use a 5 when above 15 knots with stronger gusts are on horizon. I also hold a 4 but at the inland on lakes I don't use it very often. So I thought to go for 4.5 2023 slick to replace 5 and 4 sls and downsize the quiver. What u guys think?
