I've noticed lately riders are carrying 2 Parawings on the water. With the PW narrow wind range it makes sense to pack away the larger PW for lighter wind. I'm currently learning on Ozone 3.6m/DW110L but feel like I need a 4.3 or 5m to get through the frustrating lulls. For learning you want to be overpowered.

Lots of people carrying two for sure.

I don't share the same perspective to be overpowered learning. I want to be underpowered when learning. It's more valuable to me to learn the low end than it is to simply get on foil. Once on foil and hooked in though, the range is exceptional, both low and high. It's just the efficiency of the initial water start is tricky to figure out.

Current range I've ridden my pocket rockets:
3m: 18-33 knots Prefer 22 for takeoff.
2.4m 20-40 knots. Prefer 25 for takeoff.
Neither felt maxed out on the high end.

Agree with that for normal in out riding or upwind/downwind just have a different size pwing on the beach, like I do winging. However doing a car shuttle dw run and there is the possibility of the wind dropping then I can see the value.

I am jealous. You guys in the Gorge and Maui are really doing another sport compared to parawingers in most of the other places ;)For us, It is about understand whether a 4 or 5m parawing give enough pull to start in light wind and have lines still short enough to be retracted.

We use Camelbaks made for mountain biking. Stash your spare in there, and your main one on your usual parawing belt. Depending on the Camelbak you might have to make some slight adjustments like removing back pads, but it's a great setup for big days on the water. Phone case, water, etc all fit too. We'd only do this if we're trying to link up for runs, or if we're likely to lose sight of one another.

If we're just sessioning a small area, and the cars are fairly close-by, then we don't bother with the packs. We just come back in and swap as needed.

I will say we're in a spot that can go from 15knots to 35+ fairly regularly. If we had a nice steady coastal breeze I wouldn't bother with multiple PWs

This is my setup. The bag can fit two parawings at once so has plenty of space. It cost me about $20. I replaced the straps that came with with shock chord as it's less likely to break something - also it's easier to put on and take off with nothing to adjust. Hardly feel it at all when riding.

I have a similar bag that I'm really liking for this. With one spare PW and phone in there- I make the bag extra short/tight with the roll top. It's light, secure, rides high between my shoulder blades- completely forget its there. Did a DWer yesterday, was nuking at the top but got light the second half so switched to bigger PW.... comes out light and dry. Such a nice option to have!
