Does anyone sail on Wilson Inlet down at Denmark? Going camping there in a few weeks, wondering if I should take my kit? Any important bits of info I should know?

We use to go sailing there when i was a kid.
Used to camp at the rivermouth caravan park.
Sailing Herons with the old man but used to have state titles down there.
If my memory serves me it can get quite windy down there.
A lot like Walpole except a bit more open to the elements.

Yeah I think that's where we're staying.
I'll take the gear down and see how we go.
Cheers.

Going there in march. Weedies will probably be the go as there is always bits of weed floating around in the water.

One of the best memories i have of Denmark is sailing out to the sand bank in the middle of the inlet on low tide and picking the mussels off it.
Came back with a full eski worth and just cooked em up on the barbie in the salt water. One of the best feeds i've had . That and freshly caught and cooked scallops on the beach at Smoky bay in SA. Yummo

Hi Stu

No wind unfortunately.

Walpole and Denmark are nice spots to tour even without wind. Denmark's inlet into the bay is nice. Nice blue water. There is the potential for nice sailing everywhere in these two towns. Some nice waist deep water. Just needs wind.

At Denmark - For a general perve around without wind, check out the Green Pools, Elephant rock and the the Inlet.

The gap and natural bridge at Albany are amazing. I'm at Esperance today and some of the bays look tops.

I think the Southern end of WA is what sells it but I'm yet to do the very top

Cheers for the update Haircut
Bummer you didn't get any wind though
I agree, the south coast is one of the most naturally beautiful areas in Oz.
Secluded bays, might Karri trees, protected inlets and open ocean.
Can't go wrong really
