I have been playing around with my mast settings. Sometimes I move it forward, sometines I move it back. Generally I keep it in the middle.
Do you move it forward or back in stronger winds?
or is it something to do with sail size.
Most boards only have a small track, my Tiga mast track is about 60cm long. It use to slide forwars and back by pressing a button with your foot. I never used that function. I just set it and forget it.

Forward for lights winds, back for strong winds.

On new boards you really don't move it, as it depends where the rocker flat is. IE there is a right position for 90% of your sailing and you leave it there.
On my waveboards I sail with it in the same position always.... unless it is way bumpy I may move it forward about 10mm.

Maddog if you are talking about your Carve - put it just behind centre and leave it there. Unless you are trying to use a long boomed 1990 model 7.5m on it.
Get a knowledgable person to loook at your whole setup and even better sail it, and advise you.
