I couldn't belive what I was seeing at Shoalwater today and I must say I am disgusted. OK I've been a bit slack in the sailing department lately with my hang glideing takeing the front seat at the moment but have things changed so much in such a short time, please don't let it be the future of windsurfing or I'll give it it forever.
Here's what happened, after checking out Crystals I drove to Shoalwater and saw two and only two "guys" (questionable) on wave gear exiting the water and this is where it gets unbeliveably disgusting, I feel betrayed and humiliated that two of our fellow sailboarders could turn against their own kind by,....by,......by,....wearing BOARDSHORTS over their wetsuits One of our own, can you belive IT!
HOW IN THE HE77 ARE WE SUPPOSED TO MAKE FUN OF QUEER KITERS WHEN WE'RE BEING UNDERMINED BY TWO OF OUR OWN, HUGH![}:)]
Name and shame I say, one of them even wore a baseball cap backwards! and they weren't even young!! mid to late twenties, mayby thirtyish
What is becoming of our sport, I'm not proud to admit that I shed a tear.
I pray that they are just kiters who have become confused and lost their way and just need guidance back to from where they came, the dark side. Kind of strange though how the dark side can be very brightly coloured.

Well there in your rant is the answer. If they haven't yet worked out which way the baseball style cap fits on the noggin, then how they going to work out which bit of gear goes on first and which bit last

I noticed that in the crossing of the English Channell done recently by Guy Cribb and Antoine Albeau that Guy Cribb ALSO wore boardshorts over his wettie. What hope is there if someone with his standing in the sport is doing it too!!!

No van but there was a gay pride parade float in the carpark. To be honest I think I saw a white panelvan but I couldn't be sure, my eyes were burning. When they skipped up the beach singing Dancing Queen that's when I left (won't be long before Rider adds a smart comment about it's raining men so I'll get in first).
I may have got a little carried away but people who do this are painting a target on their backs and I'd hate to disapoint them.

Yes....I saw him windsurfing and I thought WHAT THE!!!!!!???>>>>He is a local because I've seen him out in summer. He wears a cap back to front with boardies. I think he's gone to the darker side now and there is no rescuing him. He's very young. I'd say early twenties. There was a shark sighting in the area a while ago so maybe he is trying to scare the sharks away. I know if I were a shark I'd bolt the other way. Seriously, he's a good sailor and maybe he was feeling the chill and wore boardshorts over his wetsuit. Who knows.
