Late notice but we decided to put on a wave comp at wedge this weekend with the good forecast and since margies has now been cancelled.

The plan is to meet on the beach about 2kms north of the island at 1pm.

We want to run novice and open, and any other division than can scratch together a few competitors.
Novice will be expression session or man on man if they choose.
Open will be man on man.

No judges NO comp. we need your help! Judging is easy and is a great way to learn!

BYO grog, WWA will provide a bbq and some snags!

for more info pls call me: Alex 0413969679

4wds are the prefered access method, but small 2wd cars with the tyres let down will work fine.

better to run a comp in smaller waves and with decent wind than in big swell with no wind - that's no fun either . you should support people who make the effort to setup an alternative event instead.

Maybe you should have a go at organising all the permits for a margs comp curac.
Or maybe you could just sit there and whinge.

Hi Curac

if you can get a permit for a sailing event during school holidays for the main break then Windsurfing WA greatly appreciate your assistance and support.

We will be about 2kms north of wedge island on the beach. look for the flags.

Briefing at 1pmish

dont forget indian ocean drive is the quick way to the settlement, no need to drive to drive in through lano. Plus the beach is pretty hard atm.

Everyone should meet up at Lano and then jump on a courtesy bus with a trailer for everyones gear. (hint, hint) The SB crew are heading up that way today but don't have 4WD access. Will try our best to get there.

Man you guys are so hardcore to sail in that remote wasteland. We dropped in for a look on our way back to SYD, still trying to get the sand out of my ears, not to mention the Hertz van!
Was amazed at the quality of the sailing given the overpowered conditions.
Great job to all who attended and organised.

Dave in a Holden barina made it. you can reach the settlement on tarmac, then the beach was very hard packed. No need to run buses and trailers etc.

Good work to Alex and Garry for organising and everyone that came along and helped out and sailed. It was a good day.
Wedge is a great spot for a comp. It's good for all skill levels and it all happens close enough so everyone can see what's happening. There's also enough room for people to sail if they're not competing. Hopefully we can make it an annual event.

Was good fun. And all the more enjoyable for being able to sail when its not your heat down the beach as well. Be nice to even have a couple of these events up there a year. Cheers Alex and Garry.

Great fun guys had a ball.Good to see the novice giving it ago and making the effort to get there.
High standard of sailing by all.Great to watch.
I agree with Nathan you should hold it a couple of times a year as it pretty consistent there.
