I'm a youngster who's been windsurfing on the Bic Techno's for about a year now and I recently got some wave gear. I've used it at pelican point a few times but I'm really eager to get into the waves. I know about Lancelin, Coronation, Margaret River etc. But it's not often that mum and dad will be willing to drive me that far so I was wondering if there are any spots a bit closer to Perth?
Thanks.

Sick!
Winter is great for waves.
Mandurah has avalon and gearies
Rockingham has Safety bay and Shoalwater when there is a big swell and a few other spots
Fremantle has Crazy Waves down near CY O'Connor beach or Woodmans Point for jumping
Dutch inn at Cottesloe
Mettams and north beaches

Try Dutch Inn before the sand on the south side of the groyne dissappears. (if it hasn't already)
