Miserable day for me due to being on too big a sail.

5.5m was at least a metre too big. My 3.3m would have been perfect in the gusts that were just huge.

To those that missed it - you were the real winners.

Winners were guys on right size sail and losers were the ones on the wrong size sail, sail size not that hard to work out. Red Thumb for sure.

At about 12 it was perfect for a 4.2 and wave board most of the time, little bit light in the lulls but almost never too much. Actually quite sunny in patches.

Pfftt...best day I have had in ages!

All on my pat malone out in Safety Bay on 4.2 between 3 & 5 enjoying some moments of pure delight in between getting the rig ripped out of my hands. There were swells breaking on banks I never knew existed!

It was so invigorating - could have easily used my son's 3.0 but I was worried about busting it.

These are the days you remember - can't wait for the next storm now!

I sailed Dutchies 3:30 - 5, with 2-3 other guys. In that direction the best area was from south of the groyne to Leighton Beach - got some good long runs across the bay and through Cables. Some good sized peaks rolled through there. Way overpowered on my 4.5 blade though! I can't understand why so few were out, considering the alternatives if like me you didn't have time to drive outside Perth metro area...

Yeah, at Melville

Actually the swell was almost as big yesterday but 15 knots instead of 40 - had an awesome session with Lao, launched 150m south of the groyne.

I'll remember that for next time !! 15. ! Not too many options in that direction and strength. I sailed Pinneroo all alone from about 2-5. I also like lano back beach in that direction but didn't think it was worth the drive if I was going to be ridiculously over powered. As it turned out, 4.0 was over powered, but perfectly sailable.
