I am looking to centralise verge side collection with a facebook group. So if your throwing something out that could be recycled, take a photo with your phone and upload it with a googlemaps location. This way it'll probably get picked up before a weather front comes through and ruins it. Or even if you just happen to see something that someone might like you could post that up too if you have the time.

If you're chucking something that deserved to be recycled share the love and let the povo students know!

Post up to this group: Verge Side Collection
www.facebook.com/groups/74528687621

The group is totally not for profit and has no commercial interest; I am currently studying and looking to improve the experience.

If you have any feedback to improve the idea I'd like the feedback. Or if you can forward this thread to other Perth forums that'd be appreciated.

To be technical, as soon as you put rubbish out it is property of the council and anyone taking it is stealing.

yes we all do it, and probably nobody have ever been charged for it, but if I were you I'd put a legal discalimer on the site that says (at least) you take no responsibility for the thrower out or the collector or the use of the collected items etc etc.

You'd hate for it to get as big as eBay and some c0ckhead sues you

They also have a great iphone app that makes it super easy to post (it uses the built-in camera and gps). It's free.

That would be the way to go.

Yeah I suppose it is illegal in the same way it is illegal to "undertake" a car, bs really!

the fb group is an awesome idea... there is also a website a bit like yoink that is meant to have have a map with dates on but its not very good. cant remember name now.

for the iphone/android app there are now websites where you can build simple apps online without programming..

if you join freecycle be warned you get sooo many emails, even when you ask not too

some student/bum with lots of time to spare should trawl through all the council websites and make a database of the dates and areas..

Gumtree has a "Freebies" section where you can post things for free, I've posted a few times and had stuff taken within an hour.

Maybe Seabreeze could incorporate something similar in its Buy and Sell section?

This is a great idea!
I just picked up a mistral equip race board in great condition..Off the road side
The only thing missing was the centre board and the mast step to track connection...
Will have to keep looking for those..
Anyone got any of these bits they don't want anymore?

Would love to get one of those boards, or a windsurfer one design, still heaps of fun sailing them..

so i guess i can put it here, if anyone sees one of these boards on the side of the road let me know..

think you can get the track parts still, wingenuity on the east coast used to have bits and pieces, also boardcrazy in newcastle used to have track parts as Andy used to use them in the Caveman custom race boards.. you can make centreboards if you cant find one, seen heaps of custom ones..

Hi Snides I have a centreboard for a mistral race that I am sure was designed for an equipe. You can use it as a rough template.
And the mast step borrow mine to design a new one- or see what parts you need.
PM me for a number.

Hi mate just got back from having a sup with the daughter at peli.
I used the equipe as a sup..was a bit tippy but was fast!
When i got back in there was a chap with a one design in top nick who let me try his
Dagger in the case...fitted perfectly (as i suspected...the equipe and the one design are quite different) i will catch up with you sometime if possible and trace
An outline.

Cheers
