Yesterday I had to change my sail from a 7.8 down to a 6.4 due to the great wind we had yesterday.
I found I sailed the 6.4 better than the 7,8. I could get into the foot straps and lock myself in for the ride.
Do you need to adjust your harness lines when changind sails????
What is the best setting for harness lines??

As Guy Cribb says the back of the line should be placed a third of the way down the boom from the front end. This is just a guide and can vary spending on the type of sail used i.e. cammed or non cammed as draft of sail is in different place.
In general I move my lines about 3 to 5cm when I change from 7.5 to 6.7.I like to have mine so I can sheet in most of the way with the harness with the last little bit backhand and comfortably push away with front hand

I just moved my harness lines to a third back. It is about 20cm further back than what I was sailing.
I think I need to experiment more with my harness lines.

Thanks Tobyr
As a sailor from the 80's and I was using my old gear earlier in the year I can see why I need to change my harness position.
I bought new gear in September and now need to break old habits. I keep closing the slot and losing power. I have to consiously stop doing this as it is spoiling my sailing. Thanks for sending me the link to Guy's article. I should do his course in January but I am away at that time.
