With some stable green arrows on the forecast, we're looking forward to holding Slalom Rd 5 on Saturday as scheduled, hopefully starting the racing shortly after lunchtime if Huey plays ball.

look forward to seeing you all there.

What time should a first timer aim to get there for?

Looks like first possible start will be 2:30pm. Most people rock up around lunchtime or just before to set up.

Last round started around an hour earlier at 1-40pm due to the windsurfers starting the first race before the kiters. which was a first for this year.

Looks like lighter breeze if any possibly around 13 to 20 knots.

Weed was insane last round. Needed a super weedy at times.

Folks, unfortunately with the flukey easterly and a lack of competitors on the beach, round 5 has been cancelled. Apologies for the extremely late cancellation.

All firat start times are published by SBYC the day before based on conditions. There is no fixed sequence for which fleet starts first - that totally depends on volunteers and fleets sizes. Last round was run that way due to extreme shortage of vollees meaning we ran alternating races between kites and windsurfers. That has been done more than once this season and works well.

Shame the wind didn't play ball today but general consensus was that it may be doable late on but fluffy at best so decision was an easy one.

Weed is unfortunate but it's that time of year and that's what weed fins are for hey.

Hope to see ya all down there in 2 weeks time.
