Just had my boom re-gripped by Barnaby at Perth Board Repairs who did an excellent job.

Just a heads up, he recently opened his workshop in Naval Base and if you need any repairs to your windsurfer, sup, surfboard, kiteboard, etc check him out.

Yep, he's great. He did my Twister and I'm really happy with the job.

I don't want to bust the balls of a guy just starting out but only fair to point out the other side of the story. He is prone to disappearing with your gear and ignoring all contact for quite literally months on end. The blokes at Second Wind will attest to this. Maybe it's teething problems with the new business but hard to explain the complete absence of contact.

Indeed. While we have all seen the Severne video -> actually doing a regrip is reasonably hard work.

Given that carbon booms (and some Alu) last quite a while, the grip tends to go first. Knowing a rough estimate could result in more recently regripped booms showing up a your local spot.

Just to clarify this, Barnaby did a good job on a smashed up fin box and in the end was decent enough not to charge due to the delay. So hopefully this was a one-off and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for the future.
