Windsurfing WA has permits for the weekends of 4/5 and 11/12 of Feb for a wave comp at Margaret River.
Unfortunately we do not have an event organiser.
There needs to be at least one jet ski manned at all times during the event for our insurance to be valid.

General helpers for registration etc.

If we cannot get the jet ski and an event organiser the competition will not happen.

Just to be clear WWA has a very small group that has organised all the events this season (5-10 people) and they are all volunteers with jobs / lives. If you want to see this event happen please get involved. Contact info@windsurfingwa.org.au

I'm on the East coast and if I was there I would surely help out. Spent 2 weeks at Margies over xmas and you guys get it good!! The conditions shred compared to over here.

Thanks for the offers of help received. Comp will go ahead but we will wait until mid week to confirm the weekend as Cyclone Iggy is making the forecast unclear.

Entry is included in WWA membership.
For insurance reasons you must be a member of WWA, GWC, SBWC or another state association.

Event
First heat starts at 12. Elite, Open, Women and Masters categories (if enough entries)
Single elimination on Saturday and reserve day / double elimination on Sunday.
Social gathering on the Saturday night.

Thanks to KA there will be a participation prize of a KA sail.

Planning all sorted Thanks again to all those involved.
After Saturday's comp we will go to the Margaret River Resort for the results and draw for the KA sail.

Registrations are filling up. Please make sure you are a paid up member if you want to compete (we have to have this condition as we cannot get the permit without $10 million public liability insurance and our insurance only covers those sailors in the AWA membership list).
Membership through the web site is very straight forward and can be done until tonight(Fri). Membership not available on the day

We have been asked to point out that the reserve was burnt out in the recent fire and is very fragile so please stay on paths and paved areas at the event site.

Please come and register on the day as early as possible. The plan is to hold a briefing at 11am once registration closes and get started with heats as soon after as possible.
