so far so good, wit the new ones.
next time, u break or forget something just ask one of us for a spare, i had one in my car u coulda used..
Hey Windy,
Which part are you referring to?
I've got this model here...
Is it the connection from the UJ to the mast base that you reckon is suss?
yep, that little plastic clip on the deck plate that stops the metal U pin from slidinding back out...
it wears out / losens up, then all it takes is for you to tap it with your toe when gybing or wave riding / carrying to beach etc to unatatch the clip.....
Eventually the uj will pop out of the deckplate, normally way out the back after your first jump or gybe

the first few times it happened to me i rolled my gear up and swam in, been rescued by a cray fisherman THEN i realised you can turn the board on its side, put the uj back in the hole, waterstart and sail away (without any pin if it has sunk, sometimes they just stay on if you are very lucky).... the secret to sailing back with out the pin isto keep the rig upright with lots of mast foot pressure...
buy a screw in one though and you wont have to worry about the above

its a real pain in the arse to connect uj to deckplate, especially in choppy water
