My wife has entered me for the 2014 LOC - I only have an old Starboard Acid, and a cobbled together Severne Blade 5m. I weigh 80 KG - will this actually get me round the course..... I am not worried where I come (obviously), just that I will have enough power to plane round the course.

I also need to get hold of a life vest and Flares, what is the best way to do this?

I've done it on an old Starboard Acid, and a 6m wave sail. 5m will be a bit small for you (it will only be OK if we get a howling 30 knt+ wind, a bit unlikely).

You can borrow a life vest and flares on the day, just get there early as they have run out in previous years.
