Brilliant news.....
Thanks all who have answered the call this week, for showing your support, and getting behind the resurrection of this legendary event.
We have now achieved viable numbers, planning approvals have been given, Leeman Community is gearing up, and final planning/organising is in full swing.
We are expecting 40 to 50 sailors if the forecast is good which is great news for the big race.

Dan, The requirements of this event include flares in date and it is stated:

"Flares (in-date) - Orange smoke type for daytime use are preferred - housed in zip lock bag."

I have one Orange smoke type and one red hand flare both in date, is this compliant ?

Thanks

"Yes" is the short answer to your question Richard,
It is compliant to have one of each. The red flares are still visible during the day but the orange smoke flares leave a mighty trail to follow upwind, and as such, they are much preferred for daytime search and rescues. (they also continue to spew out the floating smoke underwater if you accidentally drop them which is another plus...)
Having two red is not on, but one of each is fine.
See you up there.
Regards
Dan
