Hi just wondering if anyone can give me some tips on wavesailing spots near Exmouth/Coral Bay. Travelling from Sth oz. I know of Kiters in Exmouth but not any windsurfers. Any info would be great
cheers Alan

Just got back from the region. I recommend downloading the explore marine parks app before you go (large download). The area is pretty heavily regulated and the app lets you know where you can windsurf (and other activities too) based on your location

Hi if you are going in October there are always windsurfers (me for one) at Yardie Homestead(the best) and the Lighthouse camp grounds who will help if you ask, we go for the wavesailing.

You cans sail at the light house bommie.
Sail down a few hundred metres from the car park. Good wave. Keep an eye on the wind. If it drops its a swim in. Can be a bit sharkie!!!

Grave yards is another spot, a bit safer regards long swims in. Sandy bay is just a great spot to sail, if there are no waves ,and you just want a fun blast.

Thanks for the info. I am guessing southerly winds would be favourable? I am staying in town for a couple of weeks so hopefully get some sailing in.

Catch up with Tom at Exmouth surf shop at the lighthouse caravan park. He runs the kite school and will give you the low down on where to windsurf and how to find grave yards. He will also know which windsurfers are around too.

Seabreeze forecast can be miss leading at there is a huge local effect from the range. Forecast is for town not out on the west coast. Meteye or windfinder will show forecast for both sides. Lighthouse was easterly yesterday afternoon but we sailed 10km further south.

Just arrived in Exmouth, staying at light house. If anyone around, say hello I'm up for for a sail. Navara ute with textured Gray paint job and big canopy. Cheers Daren

If you are going in October there are dependably windsurfers (me for one) under the most favorable conditions) and the Lighthouse camp grounds who will help on the off chance that you ask, we go for the wavesailing.
