Anywhere in the bay depending on wind.
Or put in at Wylie Bay and head out 2-300m
Sitting about 20 - 50m off the beach anywhere there will be redhot for sand whiting, use cockles for bait

That will be news to the locals!
Seabreezes are less windy and less often than Perth

But it does get wind when nowhere else does, as weather patterns are so different when it is almost in SA

Keep an eye (unlike what Mark_australia does with his!) on the 7 day forecast for Esperance, I'm in Albany which has similar weather patterns and regularly use Meteorology.com.au forecast to see 7 day trend:

www.meteorology.com.au/local-forecast/wa/esperance

E/SE forecast for Good Friday but doesn't look promising (usually, forecast of at least 25-30km/h is sailable with large wave gear)

Took me a while to get it since I rarely ever read the West Australian, watch any TV news or even care what poor BC is up to, so for any other ignoramusus (like me or east coasters!), this is what they're on about:

27 deg and 18-23 knots E/SE forecast for Esperance on Easter Sunday and you're heading north coz its too cold, you're nuts! Do you really think you'll get any decent wind up north this time of year?

lankstar,

Just emailed my mobile no to you via Seabreeze, I live in Albany so drop me a line when you cruze in for local info.

Forecast for both Sat & Sun afternoon looking great, easterly winds (which is best wind direction here either on ocean or in harbour), Sat 15-20k & Sun 20-30k!

Great thing about Albany is that you can sail in ANY wind direction by choosing different spots either on harbour or ocean, unlike Esperance which is a no go in many wind directions (particularly anything from the North). Also, some friends doing 40km long sea kayak paddles on Sat & Sun so hope you've brought your kayak with you if you're keen!
