CAN EVERYBODY REMEMBER TO VOTE FOR DAYLIGHT SAVINGS ON MAY 16TH.
IT WILL BE A REALLY CLOSE VOTE.
LAST NIGHT WAS DARK AT 814PM.
IF DAYLIGHT SAVINGS VOTED AGAINST WILL BE DARK DURING SUMMER JUST AFTER 7PM!!!!!
IMAGINE GETTING ON WATER AFTER WORK AT 6PM AND HAVING JUST OVER 1 HOUR OF SAILING!!!!!

IF YOU LOVE THE WIND VOTE YES

Be great no daylight savings

The bypass rd extends the freeway but the local council drops all the speed limits to 70kms and puts in another 5 sets of light between the 2 bridges (thats not crap there

)

The trip down to sesame street on a weekday doesn't look so viable for the metro crew

Unfortunately I'll probably need the extra hour just to drive across muppettland once it's done

anyone able to be at the beach before 6.00pm in summer, as there job allows them to get there "early", is NOT entitled to vote on the subject!!!!

Or they should be given a vote card with a "yes for DS" only box re ticked.

Nor are any pensioners who have to be in front of the telly for the six o'clock news every day. God bless the dears that think if it is too hot at six it will be so much better being five o'clock or at least if the time were different so would the temperature.

I could quite honestly say that the majority of people have no Idea of how I will be voting on this.

All my posts on DLS (always have been) they ARE designed to take the puss and should not be taken seriously. As the thread gets longer my claims get wilder

if you really love the wind you will arrange your own times to suit. Don't rely on the general population to do it for you.

I done with it, my sails have faded, I get into trouble coming home later, and the sea-breeze comes in an hour later.

How do we vote for it?

Can i make up fake names to vote more than once to keep it?

Can we put posters of sad windsurfers who only get to sail after 5.30 around the city to convince to rest of the population to vote yes..?

well thats great if you have a job thats flexible. Many people dont.

Your correct about 9 to 5 being the old way of living now its 8 to 5 ... my last job in the city was 8 to 5, for a 40 hour week - how does that work. Supposedly you got an hour lunch break and supposeduly it was flexible... but you got comments and looks when you left early even if you didnt take your lunch break or came in early... dodgy

I now work fly in fly out - so I will never be sailing (ok maybe sometimes, just not as much as when I was in Perth)

Sorry to see you going back to victoria in disgust windy. I guess you will have the benefit of DSavings back over there and better surf thru the summer.

Hope all goes well for you there.

Did anyone notice how many people did not vote. When they showed the number of voters registered in each area, followed by the resulting votes either way, there were around 8000 people in most areas that did not vote. That looked like close to one quarter of voters didn't bother.

probably a lot of people that didnt care, or mildly in favour, i bet ALL the no camp voted.

spoken with a few of those people and they said that they've voted three times already on the same issue. ten million dollars spent during a recession, just to make sure the pollies have it in black and white. I suppose the republic will be the next contentious waste of our taxes.

Geraldton
NO - 13,327
YES - 3,178

Mandurah
NO - 10,495
YES - 6,384

Ocean Reef
YES - 10,621
NO - 6,411

Scarborough
YES - 9,247
NO -7,724

Vasse - Margaret River
NO - 12,649
YES - 6,241

So next time you're in Geraldton, Mandurah or Margaret River just remember these were the people that voted NO and robbed you of that extra hour of sailing you once had after work and for some people the only chance you had to get a sail after work.
