We are now 24hrs out from the start of Cervantes Windsurf Challenge 2022 and there are over 70 entrants.
Mother nature has certainly provided the wind so don't forget your small gear and make sure that you have visible sail numbers on them. If finish line judges cannot see your sail number it will not be recorded.
In the lead up to the event please keep an eye on Facebook or Seabreeze for any updates or communication from the event organisers.
The event will be run out of Thirsty Point all 3 days, this is where you need to come to register and where sailor briefings will be held. Attendance at the briefings is mandatory to ensure that you get the most up to date information and safety instructions. Given the strong wind forecast, the committee would like to remind you to sail within your limits. It is forecast to be 25-30kn in the afternoons, please ensure that you put your safety first!
Mandatory safety equipment-
Helmets for all foiling disciplines
2 x flares for all competitors
Approved buoyancy vest for all competitors
In today's world of COVID safety - please remember to practise social distancing and hand hygiene. There will be hand sanitiser available at Thirsty Point.
The Shire of Dandaragan have been very clear that we are not to venture into the dunes, they will be roped off during the event and we request that you do not attempt to walk through them, rig your gear in them or store any supplies in them. In short - STAY OUT OF THE DUNES.
A reminder that Friday night is a BYO BBQ at the footy oval, please ensure that you bring your own plates, cutlery and food. The footy club bar will be open and we encourage you to support the Cervantes Tiger Sharks footy club by purchasing your drinks from the bar.
Saturday night is our presentation party with catering and entertainment. There will be delicious food available for all who have purchased a ticket (plates and cutlery are supplied), and the bar will be open for all your refreshments needs.
See you there
