Looks like we might be moving to Capel soon, so I was wondering does anyone sail down around there? I know Australind isn't that far but what about Pepperment Grove Beach. I do plan on hitting waves down Margs/Yallingup way but I am not experienced enough yet so will stick to the flat water for now.
Can't wait to surf good waves again though

This is what Bender told me when I asked the same question:
Peppi beach is sailable. If the swell is huge there will be a shore break but it is usually pretty flat there as the cape protects it from most swell. If you are comfortable sailing in the open ocean similar to the start of the LOC then you will be fine.

Australind is well worth the trip if you like flat shallow water. Great location for speed and learning to gybe etc.

Thanks windxtasy, Peppi beach is a awesome clean beach but I dont think I would sail there on my own unless it was only light conditions.
Australind will be the go

I sail Capel river mouth a few times a year, mainly sail off Stratham beach which is only 4 minutes from house. Get some nice waves in winter and also a decent wave to surf. Been a bit off sailing lately with the shark attack last year and have had the shark helicopter siren blaring one day. Would be nice to have some one to sail with and half the chances. Also Dunsbough during NW winds is a goer and not too far down the road.
