its nice to be on the other side of the camera for once!

nice shooting Premo - great zoom with no tripod. I suspect you are using some quality bodies and fast lenses!

Good photos!

Was a nice session, apart from the massive amounts of seaweed, didn't help I was riding a quad I guess.

Hey Greenie,

Nope, that's the 87 Wood.
Wind was pretty erratic and I went from the 5.2 to the 5.6 and was able to squirt around pretty well. I generally hate riding 80+ liter boards and struggle to turn them, but I found this thing turns pretty well. I am either getting used to wider boards because of all the SUP riding I am doing or the shapes are just getting better because they just don't feel so big in the turn.

I did not seem to have any issue with the weed as many others did, I was running 140's in the rear and 95's in the front and not once got a snag. It seems guys with more upright MFC fins or larger twins where having issues.

This board was so good is sailed by itself

Cheers,
Marco

I've been thinking about changing the 82 to 87.
The only reason why I went for the 82 was because the dimensions were as close as I could get to the 86 fish.
Looking at the 87 quad I really wanted it for the litres but was worried about the width.
Now that you have explained it that way it's sounding like I might be ok on the 87.

SUPs make you realise that a little extra volume brings alot of benefits - with very little downside.

Everyone i have seen sailing on the Quad 87 has been ripping - and planing up early too.

And by ripping i mean getting vert airs, vert off the bottom turns - which is a great indication of drive - and really nice pocket turns. Not just drifting around on the shoulder. The board seems to make people hunt down sections and get up and under the lip.

That is a very good sign in a board.

Having said that i am absolutely in love with my Nuevo 80 - but that is more of a windy option for my 87 kegs
