Very close, but I'm not sure a hair dryer gets hot enough, on max, it may just work. But I think a heat gun would be fairly cheap, it's just a fan behind a heating element.
Hmm Prices all over the place, anywhere from $19.00 to $150.00, but Bunnings have one at $30.00 not as cheap as I thought.
From electronic places like Jaycar you can get "heat shrink" tubing, by a small length of that and try your wife's hair dryer. If it shrinks significantly you're in business.
