I have a Starboard start board available for use.

if anyone is looking to get friends etc into windsurfing, but needs a big learner board for the beginner phase, i can help. Can also put a 4.2m rig together if needed (a bit forecast dependant, as i need my small boom if its going to be nuking).

the idea would be you can take it with you for a period of time (with some discussion first) whilst they are learning/figuring out balance/rig handling/whether windsurfing is the sport for them, then return it when done.

the equipment use would be free, but to be clear, the board isn't for sale, nor am i giving it away. i don't want it becoming another house for spiders in someones shed.


i can also give some instruction, but i'm not a windsurf instructor, just a somewhat proficient windsurfer. More of a give a few pointers type of deal.

No immediate plans to visit, but don't rule the idea out completely.

My friends and ihave often discussed that if we want to give speed sailing a decent go, lilacs would be the place to go for the weekend. but apparently its quite direction dependant/more of a winter trip, and we'd all have to sort out some proper small weed fins to make it viable.

I've only been down here a year.
Haven't sailed anywhere except Lilacs.
Sailing anywhere else you would probably be sailing alone.
But if you want to sail lilacs you will definitely need a delta fin. A normal weedy will not cut it.


It works in summer too. Just needs an easterly wind.

When it is on there are more sailors from Perth here than locals.

I was just joking about the board, but it's a great offer for anyone in Perth to have a go without splashing the cash first.
