I have one (all my sails are NP) and I dont like it. Very spongy.

If you can not get a 6.2 Alpha try the 6.1 firefly 2010 modle I use to have a 6.2 Alpha and now have the 6.1 fire fly. The fire fly has almost the same amount of grunt but it a lot lighter in the hands so it is easier to throw around, also it does not need the 35cm extension but has the same boom length.

But if you do require a long extension try surf & sails in West Leederville.

Oh that's no good. I am replacing a 2004 6.2 search that is anything BUT spongy - mega stable and tight foil

Pete thanks for the suggestion - I had not considered them as I am more familiar with the older stuff.
Now looking for a 6.1 Firefly as an alternative

get a force 6.2

If my 6.2 Alpha had a hairy spot I would marry it... I love it. It is my favourite set up with 102FSW. Mind you had the same drama with my mast extension being jsut too short on my X6 430 mast. As much as I prentended i didnt need to spend money on longer extension it so much better....
