Hey Crew Hoop and myself have taken the time to organise a regular Freestyle Expression Session over the summer, keeping the emphasis on improving and learning new tricks. We plan on moving it around to a few different venues to keep the variety up.
The first session will be at Melville Beach Tuesday 3rd November from 5pm.
We are planning on having a few of the local freestyle gurus to help with pointers and demos. We may be able to source a few freestyle boards for tryouts as well.
We will have a quick shade tent up and plan on throwing some snags on the BBQ and a few brews after sailing.
Please let us know if your interested in joining us.
If we get some decent wind we'll just keep sailing I guess. If every one can just go for a sail and watch each other to try and see what's going on. I'm trying to gather some of the more accomplished freestylers to come down and give people a few pointers. If you have someone that knows what they're doing helping you out it's amazing the difference it can make to learning things. At the very least it would be good for everyone that's interested to catch up ,go for a sail and have a beer and talk it up. See you there.
I just may have to come along in my high heels, raceclothes and hat.
It would be turnabout for the time I did turned up to Ascot in my wetsuit one day- (It was too windy not to go windsurfing and when I got home to change for the Perth Cup the house was locked and my husband had left without me!)
Hey, this is some footage from melville couple day ago,...
cheers Matt
Matt that was really cool. If your housing camera lens is not perspex / Plastic material use some Rainox - gets rid of the water beading on the lens. If it is a plastic type lns some raw potato ( Starch ) wipe will help.
the wind might be light but the plan was to still go down and practice the light wind stuff on big floaty boards. I'm going to try and bring 2 big boards down, and maybe a SUP.
The beers and the bbq will be happening regardless!
Thanks guys, it was fun. Perfect evening for a BBQ by the river. Not so perfect for freestyling but excellent for wafting around and finding submerged golf balls!
