ch 10 showed some awsome footage of polakow at fiji on the news tonight. Most channels are showing it.

good comparison of kiting vs. windsurfing in actual sick wave conditions...

Fair enough it takes balls to even catch a wave like that, but kite-boy didn't even make one bottom turn or top turn. WTF is impressive about that?

I might go to the snow and shuffle down a black diamond run on my arse. Watch out for me in the next Warren Miller film!

No surprises from Polakow either. Made everyone else look lame as usual.

You see that's the problem with kiteboarding. Most of them essentially don't use the power of the wave but instead are being dragged behind the kite.

I'v actually only ever seen one kiter actually riding the wave... a mate of mine from Mauritius. He would make the guy in the footage at Cloud Break look like a beginner.

I've seen a lot of kiters that can properly ride a wave, but it seems to take a lot of skill. Certainly isn't something the average punter seems to achieve in a few seasons.

Here is a pic of JP from Tim Bonython...Would have to be one of the biggest waves ridden at Tavarua.

i've seen plenty of good kiters ride wave properly. the guy in the vid is ben wilson and i would be very suprised if your mate makes him look like a begginer.

that said windsurfing sh!ts all over kiting especially in those waves, though polakow charges harder than most.

Even more impressive is that Polakow is sailing on his non preferred tack. After growing up in Vic and all years in Maui, this makes it even more special!! Go hard son...

If you notice polakow was surfing goofy, earlier in the clip, i would disagree about being his non preferred tack.

Everyone was ripping that day. Ben Wilson, Jason Polakow and Shawn the Prawn... The best of the best!
