Yup, if you have sailed Pipeline, Velzyland, Chuns, or Jockos on the prevaling NE winds....
Punta San Carlos is mushier, Waddell a hair less, Davenport usually steeper and hollower, unless it's high tides.
Cape Sebastian is usually slightly more offshore, so break's more top to bottom, Pistol River's shorebreak is much hollower, while the outside break only break's halfway down.
All depends on where you have windsurfed and if you have ever surfed.

Anybody can prattle off a list of names, however I'd like to see a picture of you in the pocket of a mast high wave. I very much doubt you would turn, just straight line the shoulder. Isn't there an American forum you can annoy?

While I don't have pictures to post, I've sailed with Harold Iggy, John Hill, Mark Angulo, Craig Yester, and a bunch of Oahu's North Shore locals a lot, and sailing Jockos with him actually watching from his house, we pioneered Chuns, Lani's, and Sunset year's before the 1992 ban windsurfing the N Shore, while preserving moments at 7th Hole and BY Beach for all posterity.
Before you say something really dumb, why don't you LOOK at the pictures posted! Very nice wavesaling waves for sure, but LOOK at the shoulder's of those mushy waves, and you will see why everyone in West Oz rides WIDE, soft railed surfboards there. The waves are mushy.

There you go dropping names again. Everyone sails with great sailors. Just because we don't write about it doesn't mean we don't have experience. Some people understand that nobody gives a ****, unless it's a funny story.

It may not be Teahupoo but I wouldn't call Margies mushy. I know it'd take me a while to stop playing on the shoulder in waves like that. Chances are all my gear would break and I'd drown first wave. There's multiple waves in Australia that make Jaws look a little mushy.

That looks like some mighty fine mush to me. I wouldn't say no to head high mushy waves.

Have you sailed with Mark Australia? No? Well you haven't done nothin'.

Small waves, good wind, only a little bit scared, it's only taken 2 years of living down here, watching the good guys for me to pluck up the courage.

So watch out for me generally getting in the way of everyone this season

Think angulo came over in the 90s and spat it because he couldn't compete with the local no bodies.

Margies may be a little fat on occasions but it has one of the heaviest lips around, just ask josh angulo who broke 4 or 5 masts in one day many years ago. Anyone who gets in the bowl at margies would crap all over your sailing ability mr nobody . I met this "loser" down at Margs this year. He travelled a long way to enjoy epic "mush". His name is Philip and is the modern day Mr Angulo.
Nebbian, I also spent many sessions watching others before finally this year giving it a crack. What a beautiful, challenging place to sail.

LeeD, I've got an easy solution. You can easily put this thing to bed!
The Pipe Masters is on hold at the moment. Just rig up and bog on out at Pipe (where you've sailed before) and we can all watch on the webcast.
Sounds like the locals won't give you any trouble either seeing as you're one of the pioneers that paved the way for them.

I remember sailing Waddell creek and Davenport 15 years ago. Great spots but I honestly do not think they are in the same league as Margs.
Then again I suppose it is a question of scoring the right swell/wind combo. For example, this is Margs a few years back.

Nuttin to do with "better" or "worse".
Just has to do with the wave itself, and it's power.
You have to stop being a proud, braggin Aussie, and LOOK at the shape of those waves.
A excellent wave sailing wave is Cabo Verde, or some of those lefts in Chile.
Compare those waves to Margies.

Better yet, look at the pictures YOU guys posted, and tell me how steep the waves are.
Better yet, look at the surfboards the West Oz surfer's use. Super wide, short, round rails, for mushy but sizeable waves.
