I was at windang this arvo. It was getting very big near dark (easily over mast) and blowing about 50knots. The outside bombie was huge.

I think it will be too big tomorrow (meant to be twice as big tomorrow than what it was this arvo). But it might settle a little later in the day. I will be going out around lunch time if its good.

If anyone wants to charge some huge ones, go to North beach bombie in the morning. It will be like Jaws but blowing 35-40knots.
PS, I wont be there through choice.

it was not very big at maroubra this arvo, but if it was big down the coast it's on it's way.

can you get out at north beach bombie when it's that big?? probably give it a miss myself.

the kick at longy maybe.

Easy straight out through the harbour. It will be giant though.

I've sailed the North beach bommie a few times and it works best in a SSW or SW but at this size swell works ok in a S. You'll 100% have to go out through the harbour because it was HUGE this arvo and will be enormous tomorrow. It was peeling perfectly this arvo...someone take it on haha....and bring a jetski.

Queenscliff bombie was breaking this morning and there was enough wind on it. Problem was that the sea is a complete mess with waves everywhere. The occasional wave cleaned up and broke nicely.

If you are lucky and get the wind and the break between the sets it would be ok, but prob not worth it. Makaha would be a good option as would the Kick (but gustier).

For scale, I saw one surfer take off at South Steyne (by the Corso) and it was just under triple head high (top to bottom).

Good luck and tell the coast guard you're going out

I just looked at Dolls Point, it is about shoulder high. Its the biggest I have seen for many years. It will probably be a good option for the safety conscious/sensible ones. Mid afternoon as the tide drops will be best I reckon.

A couple of us hoped to score Windang today but it just didn't really happen...
Swell was big with the odd set going a bit over mast but it was pretty messy. The current was ridiculous and made it virtually impossible to get back upwind to the peak. Wind was light...

A few snaps in between rain squalls.
