Hey everyone - had a couple of queries about contact after registration - this is coming asap - I just had a few technical difficulties so dont fret - I have your entry and will shoot you further details either today or tomorrow.

Cheers for the patience! The NEers are really starting to come in up here now and good reports from those further south - so its looking good!

Hey Will, Just interested as to why the master division starts at 40 years old?

Most other windsurf events in Aust seem to start the masters class at 35 (Corona, some race events etc) so not sure why the nationals would be different?

cheers
Jamie

Hey Jamie, not really any reason, I just couldn't find info as to the age limit to start the masters. Thanks for the heads up about the other events - we will make that change to start the class at 35.

Cheers
Will

Will,
Just thought I would introduce the 2011 age groups for the nationals, may be the 2012 should be similar.

Divisions: age as at 18th of February
1. Open Pro
2. Ladies
3. Amateurs - there will be a specific criteria to compete in this division however, the emphasis is on amateur level sailors and those new to wavesailing
4. Masters > 35 yrs
5. Grand Masters > 45 yrs
6. Legends > 55 yrs
7. Youth under 21 yrs
8. Juniors under 17 yrs
9. Groms under 15 yrs

Never understood the point of having any other senior category other than Masters.
Grand Masters and Legends get about a maximum of 1 or 2 eligible sailors each year turning up. And even then they are usually in the Masters comp anyway because they qualify by age. Should at least be based on number of entrants, then split it after all rego's are in at the discretion of event organizers, otherwise combine them all for a quality Masters battle. Does it count if you come first out of a field of 1?

Good call to spilt up the young guys as described above though. Good incentive.
