I don't think many of the sailors were complaining about the wave size at this event - it was more the fact that the wind was blowing fifty knots and that a 3.0 rig felt too big.
And the thing for me was the windchill and cold - even hoods and gloves can't prepare you for getting rinsed in air temperatures less than 5 degrees C. How can the body function? This is the opposite from sailing in boardies at Hookipa.
As a Euro, I'm shocked and amazed that Jaeger won - he's not the heaviest sailor, but this was also the first time he'd seen snow.
You Aussies need to look after that guy because he's in danger of becoming a bit of a legend.
