Can you hire wave gear there?

yeah you can, from the angulo centre and theres a fanatic and mistral centre too - loads of places to hire kit. good kit too - although beware if you take it away from the safe bay where these places hire kit you arent insured if you f**K up. which 3 mates of mine found out after their kit way a day late on the plane. they hired kit and each trashed a sail and a board in the first session - an expensive trip for them. but yes, you can hire good wave kit. but i'd recommend taking your own...

bowsa,
Those waves look super clean and rippable. I wouldn't want it as big as the PWA guys usually have it, but up to half mast would be sick with that clean of a wave.

How did you find the accom, locals, hospitality, cost, etc? Is FEB/MARCH the best time for wind/waves?

Yeah it was great... accomodation is pretty dirt cheap in santa maria, great fish resteraunts at pretty normal prices, although water is all bought through bottles for drinking. local water not fo drinking.... locals are super nice but you do still see beggars a bit as it still quite a poor country. An amazing place, definately be back there next year.

Best time for wind/waves is Jan/Feb for the best swells and trade winds but Dec and March will still work too... just not as often.
