Epic Footage of one of the sports early greats! Awesome to see Josh ripping and he still does on occasion.

Ray Swartz made "Summer's a Breeze" in the last 80's, also featured a few snippets of David Robison sailing on my old MD shown in the closing shot from underwater. Wished I could have gone on that trip but the HSC was looming and my old man said not on you life boy!

My old Pryde "Wave Lite" sailed by Dave Robison in the background. Soft as!

Minor problem with the previous link. This one should work now. Enjoy the video!

Hi Albers,

Well I guess it is 'old school' because of the equipment, but everything that makes it good is just as relevant today; good timing in the wave, projecting his weight forward to maintain flow and so on. Good wave sailing then is still good wave sailing now I reckon. Today's shorter, fatter boards can turn tighter arcs, and the extra fins help maintain grip on the wave face to help you stay in the critical zone more easily, but I though Josh was doing a fine job with all of that! In fact i prefer his fluid style to some of the more aggressive square turns you see today.

Cheers, Jens

Sick, now that is wave sailing, looks more like surfing than some of the new wave sailing styles around. As per Jens comments great flow and power turns all link together not just trying to do one big move, I like it and the Kit looks as if with every thing the old is the new new the sail at the start was 2 batterns with 2 half battens. As for the boards yes very different the only brand I cvan think of which is goinf back this way is Naish and in fact as much as people like to say Starboard and the inovators I for one think Naish is the leader but do not get much credit. By the way I do not sail Naish gear.

Good stuff. Anyone notice something that's different and better than today's style?
